Course Overview

Memorizing the words of Allah is an immense spiritual honor. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”

However, the true challenge of Hifz is not simply memorizing new pages—it is retaining what has already been memorized so it remains firmly etched in the heart. At Quran Classes Academy, our Hifz program is built around the classical three-tier revision methodology that has preserved the Quran in traditional Islamic institutions for over a millennium.

Who This Course Is For

  • Children & Youth (Ages 7+): Dedicated students embarking on full or partial memorization alongside their regular schooling.
  • Adult Learners & Professionals: Working men and women seeking a paced, accountable routine to memorize selected surahs or the full Mus’haf.
  • Former Memorizers Seeking Revision: Huffaz who completed memorization in the past and wish to consolidate and strengthen their retention (Muraja’ah).

What the Student Will Learn (Module by Module)

  1. Module 1 (Juz ’Amma Foundations): Establishing daily memory muscles through the short surahs of the 30th Juz.
  2. Module 2 (The 3-Tier Daily System): Balancing Sabaq (new lesson), Sabaqi (recent revision), and Manzil (older revision).
  3. Module 3 (Long-Form Surahs): Structuring longer chapters (Juz 1–10) and managing similar verses (Mutashabihat).
  4. Module 4 (Full Quran Consolidation): Cumulative multi-Juz daily revision toward final completion.

How a Class Runs

Each memorization session follows a disciplined 3-part structure:

  1. Sabaq (10 minutes): The student recites the newly memorized lines to the teacher. Pronunciation, vowel endings, and stop rules are checked with zero tolerance for errors.
  2. Sabaqi (10 minutes): Reciting the last 5 to 7 pages memorized over the past week to reinforce new memory pathways.
  3. Manzil (10 minutes): Reciting an assigned section from earlier completed portions to ensure lifelong retention.

How Progress Is Tracked

Progress is logged daily across all three tiers: Sabaq page count, Sabaqi accuracy score, and Manzil completion. If older revision shows hesitation, the teacher temporarily pauses new Sabaq until the older portion is mastered.

Suitable Ages & Schedule

Suitable for motivated children from age 7 upwards, teenagers, and adult students. Due to the daily commitment required for memorization, we recommend a 3-to-5 day weekly class schedule with daily home review.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hifz (Quran Memorization)

How many months does it take to memorize the entire Quran?

<!-- TODO: Verify institutional statement on Hifz pacing --> We do not make generic promises such as 'complete in X months.' Real retention depends heavily on daily home revision, age, starting fluency, and personal retention capacity. Our mentors prioritize firm memory over hurried speed.

Can a student memorize only specific Surahs rather than the full Quran?

Yes. Many students enroll to memorize selected portions, such as Juz 'Amma, Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Al-Kahf, Surah Yaseen, or Surah Al-Mulk. We customize the plan to your spiritual goals.

How does the teacher ensure previously memorized parts are not forgotten?

Through the strict classical Manzil system. In every single lesson, the teacher listens to both new lines (Sabaq) and a designated older portion (Manzil). New memorization is paused if older revision shows signs of weakness.

Can busy adults or working professionals do Hifz?

Yes. We offer part-time memorization tracks for adults with smaller daily Sabaq targets (e.g. 3 to 5 lines per day) that accommodate demanding work and family schedules.

Do you award a Hifz certificate upon completion?

<!-- TODO: Confirm formal Hifz completion certificate and Sanad evaluation process under Sheikh Ahmad Huzaifi --> Students who complete the entire Mus'haf and pass a comprehensive cumulative examination receive a formal completion certificate.

Can young girls and sisters study with female Hafizat?

Yes. We have qualified female Hafizat who have memorized the Holy Quran and received classical pedagogical training to guide sisters and children.
